Throw A Party in Budget Style

If you want to have friends around to celebrate some special occasion but feel that you just can’t afford to throw a party right now, then maybe you just need to re-think what this party is going to look like. There are definitely ways you can still enjoy a fun party but not spend so much, and especially in economic times like these, no guest is going to complain.

One way to make sure you don’t overspend on your party is to make a good budget first. You can actually do this online at Evite with their Party Budget Estimator but it works just as well by sitting down and making a list of everything you’ll need (drinks, food, decorations, entertainment and so on) and how much it will cost. Be realistic about your estimates though, or your budget will never work out.

If it all sounds too expensive, then look at ways you can save money. For example, make the party a more casual affair which means the food and drinks will end up cheaper, plus you won’t end up having to buy an expensive new outfit to wear. Depending on the circumstances it might also be appropriate to share the costs with your friends - for example, asking your wine expert friend to arrange and bring the drinks, and others to bring food too. In many cases having a shared party like that is certainly better than not having one at all, and your guests will still enjoy themselves.
