Protect Yourself from Identity Predators
Fraud is something that we may encounter many times in our lives. There are people who wish to deceive in order to gain for themselves by stealing our information to commit fraud. With the incidents of identity theft increasing daily, it is imperative that we as consumers manage our affairs as to keep our personal business to ourselves and we must make sure that no predators get our key financial or personal information. Account numbers and personal information should be held close to our breast unless needed by a legitimate company or company representative. There are new scams occurring everyday that must be exposed as such. From ATM scams to email phishing, it is possible that our information can be breached and used by others for their illegitimate gain.
One such act is being perpetrated under the guise of bills owed due to payday loans. Payday loans are loans given to consumers as advances on income. You then pay back your loan with interest and fees at a later date agreed upon by both parties. Although most borrowers pay back these loans in a timely manner, there are some unscrupulous borrowers who do not pay their loans back. Even if you have taken such loans and still owe the company their money, you must not give too much personal information unless the person on the other end has identified himself correctly. In these cases of fraud, the caller threatens the person with lawsuits and criminal charges, neither of which are a resolution to unpaid loans.
In the world we live in today, we must be conscious of the many scams out there and we must protect ourselves from anyone who is attempting to use of information for their personal gain. If we stay alert and double check their references, we can avoid the hassle that comes with identity theft and fraudulent activity in our name. We can most certainly protect ourselves from these phony cash advance phone calls by asking a few simple questions about our information to see what the caller knows. If it is apparent he has no information, it could be a scam and our best bet is to hang up and call our payday loan company and ask some questions regarding our account.
